During the illustrious Timurid period, the sophisticated arts of the book in Shiraz reached their absolute zenith under the generous and dedicated patronage of art-loving princes. In this vibrant and creative context, jongs, which artfully combined both poetic verses and prose narratives, provided talented artists with exceptional and unique opportunities to experiment with intricate illumination and vivid illustration within a much more diverse array of artistic settings. The present research article focuses on examining four specifically illustrated jongs associated with the prestigious library of Ibrahim Sultan, which are widely considered to be among the most distinguished and magnificent examples of the ninth-century AH Shiraz school of book arts. These precious manuscripts contain various poetic and prose texts featuring diverse literary and didactic themes, all of which reflect the profound cultural and sophisticated artistic tastes of the Timurid imperial court .The primary aim of this scholarly study is to conduct a thorough visual and codicological analysis of these four selected jongs to determine precisely what aesthetic devices and structural patterns were employed within the court of Ibrahim Sultan to create coherence and a unified stylistic identity in both the paintings and the illuminations. This study employs a rigorous qualitative research design, utilizing a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were gathered through extensive library research, direct observation, and a detailed comparative analysis of the miniatures. The research sample consists of four illustrated jongs from the Ibrahim Sultan Library, selected via purposive sampling. Findings show that the pictorial style reflects the distinct visual language of the Shiraz school: a language shaped by Muzaffarid and Jalayirid traditions, yet uniquely distinguished by spatial simplicity, restraint, and a palette of muted colors, blue, and gold.
