از اصیل‌ترین هنرهای چوب با قدمت و شهرت آباده، منبت‌کاری بوده بطوری که یونسکو آن را شهر جهانی منبت قلمداد کرده است. منبت آباده نقوش متنوعی دارد: گیاهی، اسلیمی و ختایی، نقوش باستانی و نگارگری که نقوش گیاهی بیشترین کاربرد را دارد. نقوش این منطقه، گل سرخ، گل نرگس و برگ بیدی است. از علل آن باید به اقلیم ومحیط و مسائل فرهنگی اشاره کرد. هدف، بررسی تاثیر اقلیم و فرهنگ بومی آباده بر نقوش منبت شهرستان آباده است. بنابراین تاثیر اقلیم و فرهنگ بومی منطقه بر نقوش منبت‌کاری آباده چیست؟ تحقیق، از نظر هدف، بنیادی و ماهیتی توصیفی-تحلیلی دارد. گردآوری مطالب کتابخانه‌ای و بویژه میدانی است. نتایج نشان داد آثار منبت؛ ظرافت، ملاحت و تراکم دارد و بالتبع از چوب‌های بدون بافت و نقش بهره برده است. آباده در گذشته از مراکز گلاب‌گیری فارس بوده و وجود باغ‌های گل سرخ در اطراف آن مانند شورجستان، گیاهان و گل‌های خودرو در بوم منطقه، مایه الهام منبت‌کاران قرار گرفته است. قرارگیری آباده در جوار امپراطوری هخامنشی و ساسانی و مشاهیر و شاعران پرآوازه، انگیزه غنای تصویری با اشکال باستانی و چهره مشاهیر امری فرهنگی است. باید بیان کرد اقلیم و فرهنگ منطقه در شکل‌گیری ارزش‌ها، هنرها، طرح و نقوش تزئینی دو رکن اساسی هنر منبت آباده بوده و همنشینی این دو در آثار چوبی منبت توانسته ضرب آهنگ همنوایی را در منظر مخاطب ارزانی دارد. در واقع باید اذعان کرد اشیاء منبت شده توسط هنرمندان آباده‌ای با کارکرد کاربردی یا آیینی جزو لاینفک زندگی ایشان است.
