The prominent presence of women in Mahmoud Farshchian's works with literary and mystical themes is very serious and meaningful. Using Hafez's poems, he has transformed the words and symbols of women's clothing into a literary and mystical language, each of which contains a specific narrative creation. The present study, with the approach of Roland Barthes' semiotics, and with the aim of identifying the signs and symbols of women's clothing in Farshchian's literary and mystical paintings, seeks to discover hidden layers of meaning in this artist's works. The questions of this study are: 1. What symbolic and semiotic characteristics does women's clothing have in Farshchian's literary and mystical paintings? 2. What is the relationship between clothing in Farshchian's paintings and the depiction of women's personalities? The research method is theoretical in terms of its fundamental purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of its nature. The data analysis method was qualitative and the information collection method was library-based. In this study, three prominent paintings titled "Flower Blossom", "In the Moonlight", and "Sacrifice" have been analyzed using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. The results of this study show that in Farshchian's paintings, by depicting women's bodies while preserving human and Islamic dignity, and through the use of symbols, colors, and diverse visual elements, the codes of the spiritual world and mystical conduct have been represented to the audience.
