Baba Heydar, a village of yesterday and a city of today located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, has been one of the poles of various carpet weaving and rugs in the past that Today, for various reasons and diverse components, the local art and craft of carpet weaving and the production of authentic carpets has lost its prosperity and dynamism, and custom-made carpets are woven in a very limited manner and far from the original designs of the past. the present study, which is less theoretical, aims to identify and introduce, based on a collection of authentic examples from the brilliant era of Baba Haydar carpet weaving, which were woven in the past and are now kept in the prestigious collection of Nain Trading. on this basis, 20 boards of various designs from this weaving center are introduced, studied and analyzed. therefore, the question posed is: what are the types of Baba heydar carpet designs, their technical and aesthetic dimensions? findings from the study of the samples include the following: the nature of the Baba Heydar carpet designs is broken and semi-broken and the row count is 20 to 30 rows with symmetrical knots (Turkish) and two wefts. this carpet includes designs of kheshti, bide majnun, mehrabi tree, two and three ponds (bergamot), bergamot in bergamot, simple floor with bergamot, afshan, nomadic, lakh and bergamot tree and designs adapted from Armenian rugs (Because of proximity and neighborhood). also, symbolic motifs of the tree of life (cypress and pine, wild rose), marigold (Persian rose), pomegranate, bergamot, cruciferous bergamot, altar, peacock, inverted flowers adapted from Armenian and exotic and unconventional Islamic designs. the colors used in these examples generally include a combination of warm and cool colors and the middle range of these two parts.
